These terms of participation apply to registering for WuW Camp and to running it. WuW Camp is a wakeboard and water-ski camp for children and teenagers at the StrandArena on Lake Alfsee in Rieste. The organiser and your contractual partner is WakeMan Event GmbH (details in the legal notice). On your side, the contract is made by the legal guardians who register their child; they are addressed as “you” below.
1. Registration and conclusion of the contract
You register your child using the registration form on this website. Before you submit it, the form shows a summary of your registration, where you can still correct any mistakes. By clicking “Register with obligation to pay” you make a binding offer to conclude a participation contract.
Straight afterwards you receive an acknowledgement by email. It confirms that your registration has reached us and is not yet an acceptance. We check the registration and get back to you within 48 hours. The contract is concluded when we send you the booking confirmation by email.
We store your registration together with the version of these terms you agreed to. Your details are listed in the acknowledgement email, and you can view, save and print these terms here at any time.
2. Who can take part
Children and teenagers aged 10 to 17 can take part, based on their age at the start of the booked week. Younger children, and young people who have just turned 18 and have been to camp before, can take part after consultation. We clarify this with you before the booking confirmation.
Your child must be a confident swimmer, at least at the level of the German bronze swimming badge (Schwimmabzeichen Bronze). You confirm this when you register.
When registering, you also confirm that you have read the declaration of consent. Your child brings it along on arrival, completed and signed. If it is missing on arrival, we ask you to complete it on site.
3. Services, arrival and departure
The camp price includes six nights in the camp's wooden cabins, full board, the lift pass for Lift 1 and Lift 2 from Monday to Friday during the cable park's public sessions, life jacket, helmet, water skis, kneeboard and monoski, round-the-clock supervision and the evening programme. No lift pass is included on arrival and departure days.
Camp starts on Sunday at 4 pm, which is when you can drop your child off. Departure is on the following Saturday by noon.
Extension days can be added when you register. An extension day before camp runs from Saturday 4 pm to Sunday 4 pm, one after camp from Saturday noon to Sunday noon. The price shown on the website when you register applies.
Collecting participants from Rieste station is a free additional service and not part of the price. We only provide extras such as a wakeboard, wetsuit, bed linen hire, Pro Training or extension days if they have been booked.
The cable park is operated by the StrandArena. Brief interruptions, for example during a thunderstorm or strong wind, are part of normal operation.
4. Pro Training
Pro Training takes place with at least eight participants per week. If this number is not reached, we let you know before camp starts and refund the price of the Pro Training in full. Participants need to ride confidently and be able to ride features and switch.
5. Prices and payment
The prices shown on the website when you register apply. There is no deposit. After the booking confirmation you receive an invoice by email. You pay by bank transfer; our bank details are stated on the invoice.
Payment is due no later than three months before the start of the first camp week you have booked. If you book after that, payment is due within 7 days of receiving the invoice.
6. Cancellation and cancellation charges
You can withdraw from the contract at any time before camp starts. Please send your cancellation in text form, for example by email to kontakt@wuw-camp.de. The charge depends on the day we receive your cancellation, counted up to the first day of the booked camp week. It is a share of the camp price:
| We receive your cancellation | Charge |
|---|---|
| Up to 12 weeks before the start | free of charge |
| Up to 30 days before the start | 20% |
| Up to 14 days before the start | 50% |
| Less than 14 days before the start, and if your child does not attend | 100% |
If we receive your cancellation less than 14 days before the start, or if your child does not attend, we do not refund the camp price. We will then look with you at whether the booking can be moved to another camp week with places available or whether someone else can take the place.
A substitute who meets the requirements for taking part can take over the place by arrangement with us, at no extra cost to you. You remain free to prove that we incurred no loss or a significantly lower loss.
7. Leaving early
If your child leaves camp early, for example because of homesickness, illness or an accident, we do not refund the camp price, either in full or in part.
8. Exclusion for serious breaches of the rules
In the event of serious or repeated breaches of the camp rules or of the supervisors' instructions, for example alcohol, drugs, violence or leaving the grounds without permission, we may exclude your child from the rest of camp after speaking to you. You then collect your child or arrange the journey home and bear the costs. In this case the camp price is not refunded.
9. Costs arising during camp
If costs arise during camp that are not included in the price, we invoice them to you after camp. Examples are medication we buy for your child if they fall ill, or equipment your child uses without it having been booked.
10. Cancellation or changes by the organiser
We may cancel camp or change it to a reasonable extent if running it becomes impossible or unreasonable for reasons beyond our control, for example an official ban or the site becoming unusable. We will let you know without delay and refund any payments made for services that are not provided. Clause 13 applies to any further claims.
11. Supervision, health and valuables
Trained staff supervise the children around the clock. In an emergency the supervisors arrange medical help and inform you straight away.
Information about allergies, intolerances and health issues is voluntary. For safe supervision and catering, however, we ask you to provide it: allergies and intolerances go on the registration form, medication and how to take it on the declaration of consent.
Mobile phones, money and other valuables stay with the children; we do not look after them. We recommend private liability insurance.
12. Photos and videos
We take photos and videos at camp. We only publish pictures in which your child can be recognised on our website or social media with your separate consent, which we ask for after registration. The consent is voluntary and has no effect on taking part.
13. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage resulting from injury to life, body or health. In the case of slight negligence we are only liable for breaches of material contractual obligations, limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Otherwise liability is excluded.
14. No right of withdrawal
Camp is a leisure service provided for a specific period. Under Section 312g(2) no. 9 of the German Civil Code (BGB) there is therefore no statutory right of withdrawal. Your right to cancel under clause 6 remains unaffected.
15. Data protection
How we process personal data is explained in our privacy policy.
16. Final provisions
German law applies. If your habitual residence is in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country.
If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is the organiser's registered office.
These terms are available in German and English. The German version is binding. Should individual provisions be invalid, the rest of the contract remains effective.
